Winter/Ice/Snow Rope Rescue Training at Grafton Notch SP
Melissa, Paul and Jim did a wonderful job leading the FSAR ice/winter rope rescue training today in Grafton Notch State Park in Newery.

Rope Rescue Winter Training, Grafton Notch Feb. 23
What: FSAR Rope Rescue Team Training*
When: February 23, 2014 at 9:30am-3:00pm
Where: Old Speck Appalachian Trail Parking lot – Streambed Ice Fall
What to bring: RR gear including Helmet, Harness, Ice axe & lunch
What to expect from the training:
-crampon use and techniques in variable terrain
-snow picket anchors, vertical and deadman placement
-placing and equalizing ice screw anchors
Please bring: Personal Protective Equipment + your winter rope rescue gear
We need to know if you're attending as soon as possible,

* Unfortunately this training is only open to active FSAR team members. If you are interested in learning more about our team, you are encouraged to attend our next monthly team meeting/training held at 6:30 on the second Wednesday of the month at the Kingfield Fire Station (3-12 and 4-9-2014).

- Knot of the month
- Feb. RR training event details and pre-plan, expectations
- Team RR gear review: members are requested to bring in their harness with your basic hardware for review and discussion.
6:30 FSAR monthly team meeting:

FSAR clothing & vests order- Barry (bring $ if you want to place an order)
Gear to share: Base Layers, what's underneath? Bring some examples of your favorite base layers or systems.
