FSAR: This is the annual MASAR search & rescue conference. It is a 2 day event and this year it is being held on the U Maine Orono campus. The workshops are good, and it is great fun to meet and hang out with other SAR teams. 2 FSAR members are guest presenters this year, Paul (hypothermia) and Coby (man tracking for SAR).
The price for the conference is quite reasonable at $60 BUT the price doubles after April 15!
We usually have 8-10 FSAR members who are able to attend. Last year's 2 day event was cut short by the search for a missing 15 y.o. girl in Glenburn on the 2nd day of the conference.
FSAR has agreed to host this conference NEXT year (spring of 2015). So we, as a team, should be 'tuned in' to all aspects of the conference from advertising, registration, accommodations, food, speakers, venders, etc. What works well and what would we like to change/improve?
